The Story of Layan and the Lost Bunny
On a beautiful, sunny morning, seven-year-old Layan was playing in her garden. She loved picking flowers and playing with her dolls. Suddenly, she heard a tiny, faint sound coming from the bushes.
Layan stopped playing and listened carefully. She heard it again—it sounded like someone was softly crying. She crept toward the bushes, and there, hiding among the leaves, was a little bunny shedding tears.
She stepped closer, noticing how lost and scared the little bunny looked. Layan gently patted him to make him feel safe and asked,
“Hello there, little bunny. Are you okay? Why are you crying?”
The bunny replied with a shaky voice,
“I’m lost, and I can’t find my way home. I’m scared I’ll be stuck here forever.”
Layan gave him a kind smile and reached out her hand.
“Don’t worry, I’ll help you find your way. But first, tell me, where do you live?”
The bunny said,
“I live in a cozy little burrow under the Great Tree at the edge of the forest.”
Layan really wanted to help, but she knew she had to ask her mom first.

She ran to the house calling,
“Mom! Mom!”
Her mom came out smiling. “Yes, Layan? What happened?”
Layan explained, “I found a lost little bunny who needs to go home. Can I help him find his way?”
Her mother thought for a moment and said, “Alright, Layan. But stay safe and don’t go too far.
“Make sure you’re back before it gets dark.”
Layan beamed with joy. “Thank you, Mom! I’ll be careful.”
Layan put on her favorite pink dress and went back to the bunny. She gently picked him up in her arms and began their journey toward the forest.

Along the way, they saw many wonderful things.
Colorful butterflies fluttered among the flowers, and birds sang sweet songs in the trees. They talked and laughed, and the bunny began to feel very safe with Layan. Soon, they met a big Turtle walking slowly.
“Hello, Mrs. Turtle!” Layan called out. “Could you help us? We’re looking for the bunny’s home.”
The Turtle replied, “Of course! You just need to cross the river using the old wooden bridge. But be very careful—it’s quite old.”
As they were crossing, a small piece of the bridge suddenly snapped! The bunny fell—splash!—right into the water. Luckily, the water was very shallow.
“Oh no! I’m all soaked!” cried the bunny.
Layan couldn’t help but giggle at how the bunny looked. “Don’t worry! It’s not deep at all. You can hop right out.”
The bunny started laughing too. “I guess I really need swimming lessons!”
The bunny hopped out of the water and gave his body a big shake to dry off, spraying water everywhere! They both roared with laughter. A little bird watching from a branch chirped,
“Look at you! You’re an ‘Amphibian Bunny’ now!”
Layan laughed, “Yes! He looks so funny!”

The little bird wanted to help them find the right path. “I see you need some directions,” the bird chirped. “I’ll sing a song to guide you the right way.”
“Thank you, little bird!” Layan said. “Your song is beautiful and so helpful.”
After a long walk, they finally reached the Great Tree. The bunny jumped with excitement.
“This is it! This is my home! Thank you, Layan, you saved me!”
Layan smiled happily. “You’re very welcome. I’m just glad you’re home. Now, I should head back before my parents worry.”
The bunny gave her a big hug. “I’ll always be thankful for you. I hope we can visit each other soon!”
Layan walked home with a heart full of joy, feeling proud that she helped a small friend in need. A few days later, Layan missed the little bunny, so she and her mother went to visit him and his family.
The bunny’s mother gave them a very warm welcome. “Thank you so much, Layan, for helping my son. We are so grateful.”
The bunny family threw a little party for Layan. Everyone shared yummy food and played games. Layan said happily, “I’m so glad I could help. It was such a great adventure!”
The bunny added, “And I’m so happy I met you. You are such a kind friend.”

Layan and her mom returned home feeling wonderful. From that day on, Layan and the bunny became the best of friends, visiting each other often and spending many happy afternoons playing in the garden and the forest.
