The Forest Friends’ Thank-You Adventure

Kids’ stories about saying thank you
Once upon a time, in a sunny pond, four friends lived together. There was Daisy the duck, Freddy the frog, Finley the fish, and Terry the turtle.
One day, Daisy was crying by the pond. “Waaah! I’m so unhappy!” she sobbed.
Freddy hopped over to her. “What’s wrong, Daisy? Why are you crying?”
Daisy sniffled. “I’m jealous of you, Freddy. You get to play with your mom all the time. My mom is always gone, caught by the fisherman. I wish I had a mom like yours.”

Freddy looked thoughtful. “I’m actually a little jealous of Finley,” he said. “She gets to sleep underwater. I wish I could do that.”
Finley swam up to them. “Hey, guys! What’s going on?”
Daisy and Freddy explained how they were feeling. Finley listened and then said, “I’m actually a little jealous of both of you. You guys have moms who take care of you, and you remember everything that happens. I forget everything all the time!”

Just then, Terry the turtle poked his head out of the water. “Hey, friends! What’s all the sadness about?”
Daisy, Freddy, and Finley explained how they were feeling. Terry listened carefully and then chuckled. “You guys are all heroes in your own stories! God made each of you strong enough to live your own unique tale.”
Daisy thought for a moment. “You know what, Terry? You’re right! I can fly! That’s something special that I can do.”
Freddy grinned. “And I can jump! That’s my special talent.”
Finley looked confused. “What are you guys talking about?”
Everyone laughed. “You have the gift of oblivion, Finley!” said Terry. “You may forget things, but that’s what makes you special.”
Terry continued, “And I may not be able to fly, jump, or forget, but I have a strong shell that protects me. I can hide inside it and feel safe. That’s my special talent.”

Finley’s eyes widened. “Wow, Terry! I never thought of it that way. You’re right, your shell is amazing!”
Daisy, Freddy, and Finley all nodded in agreement. They realized that each of them had something special to offer, and that they didn’t need to be jealous of each other.
From that day on, the four friends appreciated each other’s unique talents and lived happily ever after in their own special stories.
As Terry would say, “Every story is different, and every hero is special in their own way. Let’s celebrate our differences and be happy for each other!”
The end.
〈The author’s message 〉
“Hey kids! Do you know a secret? When something is missing from our lives, it’s because God knows we’re strong enough without it! We’re all heroes in our own special stories, and each story is unique and amazing in its own way.
Think of it like a superhero cape – just because someone else’s cape is different from yours, it doesn’t mean yours is any less cool! In fact, your cape is special just for you, and it’s what makes your story so awesome.
So, instead of focusing on what’s missing, let’s focus on the super cool things we DO have that make our stories special. And remember, God created YOU to be a hero in your own story! How cool is that?”
