The story of Fufy the elephant with the short hose
In one of the vast forests of India, there lived a little elephant called Fufy. Fufy was different from other elephants, as his trunk was shorter than other elephants’ trunks. Fufy loved to play with his friends, but he was bullied because of his short trunk. His elephant friend Leo always called him:
‘Fufy with the short trunk! How can he be a real elephant?’
The other elephants would laugh and repeat:
‘Short trunk! Short trunk!’
Fufy was feeling sad and lonely. He wanted to be like the other elephants, but he didn’t know how. So he decided to isolate himself and play alone to avoid the bullying elephants.
One day, the great elephant Belle noticed his little boy’s solitude and approached him and asked him:
‘Why haven’t you been playing with the other elephants for a long time?’
Foofie decided to talk to his father and asked him:
‘Dad, why do my friends bully me because of my short trunk?’
Bill realised that his son was in trouble and replied:
‘Son, you’re different, and that’s fine. A short hose doesn’t mean you are less than other elephants. You can do things they can’t.’
Fofy asked:
‘What are the things they can’t do?’
Father Belle replied:
‘You have great balance and your movement is faster than theirs, maybe because your trunk is shorter.’
Foofy felt happy and confident. He decided to prove to his friends that he could do things they couldn’t. The next day, Foofy found an opportunity to prove himself.
Fufy began to stand on a small, unstable rock and as it rolled, he moved with agility and grace, keeping his balance and not falling over.
The other elephants marvelled at his ability and gathered around him. Leo approached him and asked him curiously:
‘Wow! Fufy, how can you do that?’
The big elephant Belle approached and said with a big smile:
‘My boy is special and there is no one like him in the forest.’
Fufy the elephant became the hero of the forest. His friends respected him, loved him and got close to him. One night, Fufy approached his father and expressed his gratitude:
‘Thanks, Dad, a short hose is not a disadvantage, it’s an advantage.’
The story of Fufy the elephant in the circus
One day, elephants were walking in the forest with tourists visiting the forests of India. One of the humans noticed a young elephant, Fufy, playing in the forest away from the humans.
The next day, an international circus director came to the forest in search of new talent. He was looking for an elephant that could dance on a ball. He went straight to look for that little elephant Fofy and noticed his talent:
‘This little elephant will be the star of the circus!
The manager took Fofy to the circus. He trained him to dance on the ball. And soon Fofy practised dancing and jumping and became the star of the circus.
The audience loved Fufy’s beautiful dancing on the ball. They came from far and wide to see him, and the trainer fed, pampered and cared for him.
Leo the elephant and the other elephants were employed to drive tourists from one place to another in the jungle. They carried bags and drove carts. They complained about the hard work.
One day they approached the circus where Fufy worked and Leo whispered in his friend’s ear:
‘The one we used to laugh at is now famous and loved.’
Fufy became famous all over the world. He was on TV and in newspapers. People loved him. One summer day, Fufy returned with his trainer to visit his family in the forest and was seen by his friends. Leo and the other elephants cherished him and were proud that he had once been their friend:
‘Fufy, you are a real star! We are proud of you.’
Fufy replied:
‘Thanks, my friends. I don’t forget my origins. You are my true friends.’
