Beautiful bird

Once upon a time, there were two beautiful girls named Zahra and Nargis who lived in the Akkar countryside of Lebanon. Zahra was still very young and had not yet started school, but she loved to draw and color. Nargis, on the other hand, was a bit older and had her own box of colors.

One day, Zahra saw a beautiful bird in the window of their house. She was so entranced by its colors that she decided to try to draw it.

She quietly opened Nargis’s bag and took out her box of colors and a notebook. She sat down at the window and began to draw that beautiful singing bird.

Zahra continued to draw the bird for a long time until all the people in the house felt her absence and her unusual silence.

Nargis started calling her sister to play with her, but Zahra did not respond, as she was busy drawing that beautiful singing bird.

Little Zahra was engrossed in drawing and could not hear Nargis’s call.

Zahra draws

When Nargis entered the room where Zahra was sitting, she found her younger sister drawing a beautiful bird in her notebook and using her colors.

The kind Nargis remained silent for a while. She did not like her younger sister to use her tools, but she knew that Zahra loved to draw and knew that she did not have a notebook or any colors. She was a bit annoyed at first, but then she realized how much Zahra loved to draw. She decided to do something nice for her sister. So she quickly rushed to the other room where she kept her things.

Nargis had a small metal piggy bank. She would collect a little money every day from her allowance. Nargis quickly broke her piggy bank and took out the money inside.

Zahra’s and Nargis’s mother was writing, and when she saw her beautiful daughter break her piggy bank, she asked her:

“Why did you break your piggy bank so quickly this time, Nargis?”

Nargis smiled and answered her mother kindly:

“I want to buy something important.”

Zahra was very happy with the notebook and started jumping around the house showing them what Nargis had given her.

The mother looked at the little Nargis as she collected her colors and returned them to her bag, and she knew that she had a big, kind, and loving heart. And that she deserves to be given an amount of money instead of the one she lost.

The next day, Nargis came back from school, and Zahra greeted her at the door and said happily:

“Mom bought you a new piggy bank.”

Nargis was happy and rushed to greet her mother, she found the piggy bank in the room, and in it was an amount of money that her mother had put in the piggy bank instead of the amount she had spent on her sister.

The mother gave the new piggy bank to her kind daughter Nargis and said to her, counseling:

“You have done well twice, once when you saved money from your allowance and once when you brought happiness to your younger sister’s heart, but I also want you to keep your study tools out of the reach of young children.”

Nargis shook her head in obedience to her mother and said:

“Okay, Mom.”
